Ingredients:
For meatballs:
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 finely chopped onion
4 cloves of finely minced garlic
¼ cup of chopped parsley
1/2 cup of milk
2 pieces of toast
1 kilo of minced veal
1 egg
1 tbsp vinegar
1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup kashkaval cheese
1 tbsp of five spices
Mashed potatoes, to serve alongside
Sauce Ingredients:
2 tbsp of oil
25 gm butter
1 onion cut into slices
4 garlic cloves, chopped
hot pepper cutlets
1 tbsp of flour
1 cup broth
1/4 cup BBQ sauce
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp Hello ketchup
1 tbsp honey
2 tbsp sriracha sauce
salt and pepper to taste
How to prepare:
To make the meatballs, put the meat and add salt, pepper, spices, parsley, onions and garlic. Pour the milk over the slices of bread from a bowl and let it soak. Mix eggs with vinegar and add to meat, Parmesan cheese and Kashkaval cheese.
Add toast to the mixture, mix well, form the meat into medium-sized balls (about 20 balls.)
Fry the meatballs in 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil with butter (about 4-5 minutes) and set aside.
To prepare the sauce: Fry the onions in the same frying pan with vegetable oil and butter for two minutes, then add the onions, garlic, chili and mushrooms, then the flour, stir and add the broth, BBQ sauce, soy sauce, oregano, honey sriracha and leave on the fire for 5 minutes, then add the meatballs and finally the green onions. Serve it with mashed potatoes.
